El Jeffé

Hans: Everyone should own a classic car. It relaxes you and makes you happy.

Christian Wolf, better known as Hans, was born with his love for classic cars: The second word he spoke? No doubt: “Car!”. Even during school Hans would spend his nights in his father’s garage with old and rusty tools, working on cars. Nevertheless, he didn’t choose to pursue his passion right after school but rather started to study business administration in Leipzig.

In 1995 the right time came and Hans realized that offices, numbers, facts and poring over documents were not his world. Hans wanted to create something of his own, live his passion – his own Classic Car-Shop was his wish. An unrestrained will drove him forward. In order to pay rent of his first workshop, in which he set the ground stones of what we became today, he worked for the municipal waste collection at night.

If you ask Hans, why he is so obsessed with vintage cars you won’t have to wait very long for an answer. It is the artistry of craftsmanship – the quality of the workmanship and to keep an eye for the obvious while being detail oriented. That is what inspires him, what drives him forward and motivates him. It is his goal to combine your wishes as the customer with the best of craftsmanship.

Accuracy, fine feeling and good hearing – that’s what he needs in his speciality. Hans is our expert for the overhaul and adjustment of engines, carburettors as well as injection and ignition systems of all classic cars. We can guarantee: If Hans laid hand on your classic car it’s going to run smoother than ever before. That’s what we’re proud of!

Passion for great things: Hans‘ dream cars are almost all Sports or Racing cars. Be it a Ferrari 265 Daytona Spider, a Lamborghini Miura or a Porsche 911 2.5 ST – these classic cars let his heart soar. He likes large engines, which need a very precise setting in order to be able to unfold their full force. True to his motto: On the matter, here we go!
That doesn’t only apply to work but also to his leisure time: kite surfing, snowboarding, dirt track races – action please, immediately! For lazy Sunday drives, however, it may also be a Roadster. Driving into the sunset in a Mercedes Benz SSK Black Prince may even appeal to our boss.

Being our boss doesn’t seem to be too hard – otherwise would Hans call our working space his second living room? Of course, it’s playing quite an important role that he successfully made his hobby his profession. At least as important is the relaxed atmosphere within our team. Besides, it’s fun when everyone works for the same goal, says Hans: every detail has to meet the highest standards!

Christmas, Cars & Coffee

During this years Christmas time we were visited by our dear family. We had a relaxed time with Svenja, Philine, Erika, Julius, Michaela, Sandro and Christl – with coffee, cake and talks about hot iron, the good old days and why it’s so great to honour and preserve the old.

We wish all our customers, partners, prospective customers friends and acquaintances a very happy Christmas time. We hope you can spend the season of love with your loved ones, be it the hunchback relatives or the closest friends.
The whole team says thank you for a successful 2018 and we’ll see each other again in 2019. Exciting projects and new challenges await us and we look forward to tackling these together with you.

Lots of thanks to Enrico at Foto Rechtnitz for capturing this reflective moment and to Café Puschkin for providing the location. A visit is well worth it! Our relatives dressed themselves through Kostümverleih Holger Günther, where you can also repair old toys. So if you are looking for a costume in Leipzig or want to have broken mechanical toys repaired, Holger Günther is a secret tip.

Once again summer came to an end and it was time to celebrate the last few rays of sun. Under this years motto Rock ’n‘ Roll we invited to the Classic-Lounge Summer party, to chat excitedly with our customers and friends, to swing into the evening and dance happily through the night. Glitter, Glamour and an original dance floor turned our shop into an exclusive dance hall of the 50s with original classic car workshop flair.

BACK TO THE 50s

According to the motto, our guests were encouraged to dress appropriately. With success. Whether with tasteful petticoats, brushed Elvis pompadour or iconic tweed cap, the magnificent outfits contributed well to our night in a different time.

AMERICAN BARBEQUE

Right on time at 6pm we opened door and gate. The weather was gracious and gave us one of the last balmy nights. You could start the evening with home-made lemonade and all sorts of other refreshing drinks. For the physical well-being the  Fleischerei Materne provided a delicious home made American buffet. Whether home made burgers, juicy spareribs or colourful cup cakes, the offer was a real culinary delight.

SUMMERTIME BLUES

The summer bash was musically framed with a successful selection of Rock ’n‘ roll classics that made for a stylish atmosphere. Later in the evening, the ladies and gentlemen on the dance floor were properly riled up and rocked well past midnight.

ALL IN

Anyone who wanted to take home a memory of this amusing evening, could try out the small Piaggio, the photo bus of Foto Rechtnitz, which was equipped with all sorts of accessories. Tons of fun for young and old!

GIVE FOR CHARITY

As we were so successful last year in raising money to support the great clowns of Clownsnasen e.V., we once again encouraged our guests to donate a few Euro for the good cause this year.

With zest for life the funny fellows of Clownsnasen e. V. support the healing of seriously ill children and brighten up caregivers and senior citizen with humour and attention. And thanks to the generous dedication of our customers, friends and acquaintances, we were able to collect 700€ to hand over to Michael Bratschke from Clownsnasen e.V. We are glad to support the remarkable work of this association.

THANKS A MILLION

We would like to thank Anika for her great performance of „I read because I can“, Paul at blackdecks.de for providing the technical equipment, Materne for a successful catering, the Bio-City team for providing the furniture, Enrico from Foto Rechtnitz for the exuberant fun in the photo bus and the fantastic DJ team. Many thanks also to our staff and helpers who made this event possible with their support and, of course, to all the guests who made this evening an unforgettable event.

Beautyful once again: the Porsche 911 Targa after our total restoration

Once again we had the pleasure to represent our workshop at the American Revolution US-Car & Bike Meeting. From August 3 to August 5 we were in Günthersdorf with a large Classic Lounge stand and several original classic cars.

The meet up from and for friends of US brands near Leipzig took place during what sure felt like the three hottest days of the year. We defied the heat with ice cold drinks, interesting talks about old iron, powerful engines and the passion for historical US brands.

On board was a sporty Ford Mustang 428 CobraJet Fastback (1968) whose sonorous sound ensured enthusiasm. A Corvette C1 in a bright turquoise (1960), a rare sports car out of the house of Chevrolet, was a real highlight for spectators as well. People interested in engines had the possibility to marvel at at the GM 454 Big Block 4 Bolt of the Chevrolet El Camino (1971). Since we’re currently fixing a little mishap with an allen screw and had to remove the power engine, with 496 ci and unbelievable 645 PS, our guests had the possibility to catch a glimpse of the heart of the “El Diabolo”.

The parking lot of the Nova Eventis Mall before the gates of Leipzig was already bustling with people when we arrived. The first US-American gems caught the eye of people and made themselves heard with roaring engine noises.

In setting up the stand, we were supported by the competent team of the Music and More Group from Markkleeberg, who lent us the traverses and built them up at lightning speed. Our new „Hütchen“ assured us a shady place. The roofs made out of truck tarpaulin were made by Jens and his team from Planen-Pfefferkorn from Knauthain.

A lot of thanks to both teams for the professional collaboration.

In spite of the glaring sun and melting temperatures, numerous fans of the foreign cars showed up with and without their own vehicles. On the camping site one could be impressed by some nice design classics amongst mobile homes, which are a perfect example of the attention to the detail of the past decades.

The squad of American vintage cars and modern classic cars was exciting and remarkably extensive. From the classic pony car, roaring hot rods, to newer models of Boss Hoss motorbikes, there were plenty to admire.

If you still wanted to, you could end the evenings with genuine Rock’n Roll music, cocktails and more tolerable temperatures.

We have captured some impressions of our stand for you. Impressive pictures of the event can be found on the website of the organizer PowerMotorEvents.

We’re thanking PowerMotorEvents and all assistants for the organization and realization of a successful weekend. And of course a thousand thanks to the numerous automotive enthusiasts who made this event possible! You are great!

Since the end of June you’re able to take a look at a Ford Mustang from 1969, painted in a bright poppy red at our Pop-UP-SHOWROOM at Nova Eventis. In cooperation with our lovely graphic designer Kathrin Krasselt at KKMEDIENDESIGN and the ECE Center Management we were able to realize this extraordinary idea.

(On the left side is the draft of the  Pop-Up-Showroom from KKMediendesign.)

The foil lettering was applied by our partner Christian Laux, who has supported us in the beautification of classic cars for years already.

The result is impressive. You’ll probably be able to still view classic cars for sale or which we put our hands on all through the end of the year – at this prairie gas station with a glimpse into a different time.

Classic Cars & Coffee at Porsche Leipzig
// First Class Football //
// Magnus Walker at the  Classic Lounge //

On 18.03.2018 the presentation of the new book „Urban Outlaw: Dirt Don´t Slow You Down“  by Magnus Walker took place at Porsche as part of the Leipzig Book Fair. The format of the Class Cars & Coffee event, imported from the USA, is designed to give enthusiasts of rolling old iron the opportunity to exchange views on the fascination of historic vehicles over a freshly brewed coffee with like-minded people. Anyone travelling to the event with their own classic car could take the opportunity to go for a few exclusive laps on Porsche’s own circuit.

The lovely weather once again…

It was one of those rare weeks when the Leipzig lowland bay was hit by a snowstorm. And the snow mantle made no attempt to thaw due to the icy temperatures. Out of all weekends it was the one where the first Porsche Classic Cars & Coffee event was meant to take place. But we were not deterred by the icy weather conditions. The travel group Classic Lounge was in good spirits and excited about what awaited us at Porsche and whether the snow would keep us from driving on the racetrack.

A Beautiful Sunday Morning With Friends

Luckily, the snowstorm had subsided Sunday morning. The clouds had cleared, exposing a bright blue sky. Nevertheless, we had to make a slight change of plans. Due to the salted roads we could only take two of our cars to the Porsche racetrack. A Porsche 911 Carrera (964), year 1990 and the impressive limousine of Hans, a Mercedes Benz 280 S / 8, year 1970.

At the gas station a few minutes from the Porsche grounds we made a stop to meet up with a few of our classic car loving friends who came all the way from Magdeburg and Potsdam despite the snowy roads. A coffee and some fuel later, we were on the snow-covered highway in the direction of  Porsche Leipzig.

Coffee Break And Passionate Stories

At Porsche, we were able to enjoy the magnificent view of the snow-covered racing track with some more coffee and pretzels before Magnus Walker elated the  audience with his stories. The Porsche brand ambassador told stories from his eventful life, taking the audience into the world of his childhood dream becoming reality.

Fascination Speed

Afterwards, anyone who had travelled in their own classic car was allowed to take part in the guided driving event on the company’s own circuit. On the track, which was now cleared of snow, we were able to indulge in the driving pleasure and experience the feeling of motorsport up close. Amazing what angle of inclination such an old Mercedes can take in a curve.

Great atmosphere and top-class football

Thanks to an invitation from Porsche, we later found ourselves in the sky lounge of the football stadium along with Magnus Walker and a few other guests. Bundesliga. The atmosphere at a boiling point, we cheered for the Leipzig players, who were able to score the first points against Bayern Munich in the history of RB Leipzig. 2: 1 for Leipzig. What a day…

Hanging out with Magnus Walker

The wild-haired American by choice had heard of our workshop in the old swimming pool and asked whether it would be possible to stop by. Of course we could not refuse this request by the charming gentleman. Thus, we had the pleasure to show Magnus Walker  the Classic Lounge.

And as usual, everyone was astonished by the unique charm of our shop. The stylish ambience filled with a lot of historic vehicles makes hearts skip a beat on a regular basis. The short visit turned into two hours with some chilled beers and lots of fun at talking-shop and trying out cars.

We would like to thank the Porsche team and Magnus Walker for making this unforgettable day possible.

On our  Instagram we want to let all fans of modern classic and vintage cars be a part of our extraordinary restoration life. Whether sleek classic cars, elaborate repairs or fun from the workshop life, you are welcome to join us in the world of Classic Lounge vehicles.

This year, Santa visited our workshop in a hot sled loaded with presents. And after all the presents were handed out, he wanted to show us something. It seemed that the extraordinary atmosphere at Classic Lounge somehow went to his head.

(Photographer Robert Klenner was able to capture this moment for us.)

With this in mind, the entire team of Classic Lounge wants to wish you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays!
We would like to thank all our customers, suppliers and partners for a successful year 2017! We look forward to an exciting year in 2018 full of thrilling commissions and with many great vehicles, through which we can bring a piece of the past back to life!

We’re starting the year 2018 with some fantastic news. For friends of classic cars, our loyal customers and fans, we proudly present our Classic Lounge T-shirt collection.

Three selected Classic Lounge motifs were printed for us, in two colours each for men and women, by the great guys and ladies from Deviate Industries. Through hand-made silkscreen printing on high-quality fabrics you get the shirts in the usual Classic Lounge quality. You’ll be able to enjoy your Classic Lounge T-shirt for a long time.

motives & colors

The media designer Kathrin Krasselt drew up 6 chic Classic Lounge motifs. At the Caribbean Summer Party 2017 our customers were able to pick their favourites out of the 6. The 3 winners were realised for you!

The print „Faszination Automobil“ combines our passion for classic cars with our attachment to Leipzig. For men, the t-shirts are available with a white print on black or mouse grey. The motif with the Leipzig skyline is available for ladies with a creamy white print on ash grey shirts or in white on a pale jeans blue.

The print „Start your engines“ makes the collection colourful. We decided on the bright Caribbean blue due to a original classic car paint which matches this colour. You can buy the print in the men’s version in the colours turquoise on jeans blue and cream white on Caribbean blue. For the ladies, this motif is available in corresponding turquoise on cream-white t-shirts and in cream white print on petrol blue shirts.

The two-colour print „sexy Pin-Up Girl with Classic Lounge Spoked Wheel“ in black/orange is equally appealing to ladies and gentlemen alike on white and grey t-shirts.

Season Opening Car Show

American Revolution US Car&Bike Meeting

Versprochen:

Das Motto werden wir definitiv wiederholen!

First test drive after rebuilding the transmission – the Jaguar is running smoothly again!

Frank

Our Workshop Manager is always around: from logistics to the final touch

After the first inspection of your classic car in our garage, Frank will make you a detailed offer and will be there for you while your classic car is brought back into shape by us. He’ll take care of the procurement of the right spare parts and at delivery he’ll explain in detail what has been repaired, renewed or restored by our team.

It’s the tinkering that lets his heart soar though. “It’s great when we’re able to keep the patina of a classic car while still realizing the customers wishes without limitations!” To putter around with cars has been part of his life since early childhood. The enthusiasm for the perfected technology and the stories that the vintage cars tell, still fascinate him again and again.

Frank never gets bored with us, because next to the daily office work, he is also hard at work in the workshop when it comes to repairing or overhauling mechanical parts. Additionally, Frank is able to look back at many years of experience as an automotive refurbisher, which makes him our maintenance specialist of your classic car.

And how is Frank spending his time when he’s not in the garage? „Laying around in the garden while dreaming of classic cars: 1957 Buick, 1967 Pontiac or a 1959 Plymouth, Ford Mustang, Jaguar E 1 Series …“Typically male! If there’s someone out there who wants to make one of Franks wishes come true, here’s a tip: „A Rolls Royce Phantom III would be a dream to have in our workshop! “

The question why he loves working with us doesn’t actually have to be asked, but there are other reasons besides dearly beloved classic cars. „Interesting customers and colleagues, a great working atmosphere and challenging tasks“ says the skilled mechanic. The vintage cars are just the cherry on top.

Philip

The first out of our stable

We’re especially proud of Philip! He was our first apprentice, who has enriched our company as a Car mechanic since 2010.

By now, our former apprentice has become an independent, competent and reliable mechanic: Repairing, restoring and improving the equipment of the workshop are on his daily plan. Thanks to the wide range of different types of vehicles that have come to Philips‘ hands in our garage he has gained a great amount of knowledge. “Continuous learning is the order at Classic Lounge. There’s no mindless plan. You have to know what to do and what not to do. That’s what I value here! And also that we have the opportunity to produce actual quality work.”

He loves to tinker with cars, be it with us in the workshop or at home on his personal dream car, a BMW 735i E23.

Has he passed on the enthusiasm for cars and classic cars? Who knows! Philip certainly loved cars ever since his childhood, the passion for classic cars – for individuality – came a little later, though. One brand in particular has a very special effect on him: „An old Porsche is always the most fun to repair and restore. Well-thought-out technology that can be repaired well with very good quality it´s just a pleasure!”

Erik

Sheet metal is his World

Erik, born in 1988, became part of our team in 2010 as a trained vehicle manufacturer. Since then, he has been managing all aspects of fabrication and restauration in our body shop.

Body and vehicle construction – that sounds substantial- and it is. With Erik, the Classic Cars, which are to be fully restored, are lovingly treated in their origin. Zinc coated and welded here, rusty parts are fully or partially replaced. If the original body can no longer be used in large parts, Erik even fabricates entire fenders from steel sheets. A good day’s work: actually seeing what you have created.

When asked how he would describe his work with us in five words, Erik grins: “Dirty, but great and fulfilling!” A man of clear words!

Though it can be a little more detailed: „Each body tells me their story about their lives. Was there an accident? How was it treated? This is interesting to me.“ On working with us, Erik appreciates the feeling of belonging together like in a family, but also that he has a great scope for action. Erik enjoys the proximity to our customers, who can also look over his shoulder if they’re interested. It is hardly necessary to mention that Erik has been a fan of cars since early childhood and that he likes to work on his own racing car in his spare time, a BMW E34 Coupé. It is remarkable – but the love for BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche can be combined in one person – Erik is the living example: the complete M series from BMW, the Audi Quattro, the Porsche 911 or the „Rote Sau“ from Mercedes – Erik loves them all!

Oldies but Goldies

// First Class Football //

T-Shirts for gentlemen

To give you an impression of the fit of the shirts our good looking team members got all dressed up for you.

Hans, Sven and Michel are wearing their shirts casually fitting in size M. For the gentlemen with exquisite taste, we offer each model in the sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL.

The sporty shirts for ladies are presented by Susann and Jule, both in size S. All colours and designs were printed in the sizes S, M, L and XL

Season Opening Car Show

American Revolution US Car&Bike Meeting
